Indonesian Disease Today 2024

Indonesian Disease Today (IDT) 2024 is one of SCOPH CIMSA's national events which is held every two years. This event is held on 26 – 28 April 2024 at Bogor, West Java with CIMSA Republic of Indonesia Defense University as the organizer of the event. Project Officer of this event is Astrid Josephine Natalia, and Nadya Santi as Local Public Health Officer Supervisor IDT, also in partnership with BPJS Kesehatan, IDAI (Ikatan Dokter Anak Indonesia), Kemenkes, BPOM, and UNICEF. In this activity, around 200 CIMSA members, medical students from all over Indonesia participated as delegates and also involved around 100 people from the community around the Bogor Regency area.

IDT 2024 was held with the aim of increasing knowledge and
awareness of the general public and CIMSA members regarding stunting which is
currently a major health problem in Indonesia. IDT is also one of CIMSA's
efforts, especially SCOPH, in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
point 3, good health and well being. IDT has a way so that members or delegates
can get closer and experience life in society directly and can apply the
various skills they already have.

IDT 2024 takes theme "ECLIPSE: Embracing Children's
Lives, Inspiring Progress in Stunting Eradication". Based on data from the
Asian Development Bank in 2022, the percentage of prevalence of stunting among
children under 5 years of age in Indonesia will be in 10th place with the
highest prevalence of stunted toddlers in the Southeast Asia region.

Since 2019, Bogor Regency has been chosen by the central
government to be one of the districts at the locus of stunting intervention. In
line with the Bogor Regency government's work program regarding stunting, the
IDT program can collaborate with the Bogor Regency Government and the Bogor
Health Service. The IDT 2024 event with the theme "stunting" could be
a plus point because it combines synergy and collaboration across sectors and stakeholders
which must continue to be improved for a more integrated and comprehensive
handling of stunting.

IDT 2024 activities consist of various series. At the
pre-event, a poster competition was held with the theme of stunting which aimed
to improve the delegates' ability to convey education through the media of
posters. The competition winning posters are used as educational material
during Social Program activities and given to health facilities during Clinical
Visit activities.

On the first day, the delegates were welcomed with a
Welcoming Party, the ceremonial opening of IDT 2024, where delegates were given
a warm welcome and the opportunity to interact, while building a spirit of
collaboration. Don't forget the tour visit to the National Disaster Management
Agency (BNPB) Education and Training Center. Uniquely, the delegates were also
taught to carry out the daily semi-military activities of UNHAN RI student
cadets through additional activities such as morning assembly, guided meals and
morning exercises to increase the discipline of SCOPH CIMSA members.

On the second day, the delegates carried out a Social
Program for implementing the knowledge gained during IDT 2024 and providing a
real impact on the wider community. They interact directly with the general
public at the Citeureup Community Health Center, such as parents, pregnant
women, and also children, including stunting patients. After that, the Grand
Lecture and Training continued, a session where all delegates received a public
lecture featuring well-known speakers who had integrity, professionalism and
credibility regarding the topic of stunting being discussed. The delegation
gained in-depth insight and a broader understanding of the stunting problem and
the solutions that can be implemented.

On the third day, the delegates carried out a Clinical
Visit to increase the delegates' skills in handling stunting within the scope
of primary services. The delegation was able to see health facilities, in this
case RSAU dr. M. Hassan Toto at Atang Sendjaja Bogor Air Force Base in direct
handling of stunting. The IDT 2024 series closed with a Farewell Party, a
farewell moment full of warmth and appreciation, where delegates could exchange
experiences, remember precious moments, and strengthen relationships in the
spirit of sharing knowledge.
